Pureika is an early-stage food startup in West Bengal, India. We're developing everyday fibre and wellness powders from crops grown close to home.
What we're building
Fibre is easy to overlook in everyday meals. We're developing a daily fibre powder made from green banana, a crop West Bengal already grows, that mixes into water, lassi, or a smoothie.
Green banana is a source of resistant starch, a type of dietary fibre. We're working out how to dry and mill it into a smooth, mild powder that is simple to use every day.
Pureika is in development. We are not selling products yet, and we will share details on this site when we do.
How we work
- Sourced close to home
- We aim to buy crops from farmers in West Bengal and keep the supply chain near where the food grows.
- Tested before it's sold
- Every batch will be lab-tested and made under the required food safety licences before it reaches a customer.
- Packaging with less plastic
- We're designing packaging to avoid plastic wherever the product allows, and we will say plainly what each pack is made of.
